TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR RAMUS – THE ULTIMATE TRIATHLON SEAT

Thank you for considering a RAMUS saddle. Please read this document carefully before making your purchase.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

You are about to purchase a custom-configured triathlon bike saddle. The saddle features a design developed by Grindstone Hill Ltd., and the main frame is 3D printed from polyamide plastic using Multi Jet Fusion technology. The goal of this design is to minimize saddle-related discomfort during triathlon training and racing.

PRODUCT ORIGIN AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

The RAMUS saddle is a product of Grindstone Hill Ltd., based in Espoo, Finland. Grindstone Hill Ltd. owns all intellectual property rights related to the saddle design and reserves the right to make changes to it at any time.

SAFETY NOTICE

The RAMUS saddle is designed for performance cycling, but safe use requires proper installation and maintenance. Please read the following points carefully:

  • The RAMUS saddle design has been tested according to ISO 4210-9:2014 to withstand cyclic loads of 1000 N, which corresponds roughly to a static load from a 100 kg rider. However, dynamic forces from riding on uneven surfaces — such as bumps and potholes — can cause higher loads on the saddle, even for lighter riders. Therefore, the recommended maximum rider weight is set to 80 kg (176 lbs) to ensure durability and safety. Riders over 80 kg may exceed the saddle’s tested load capacity, increasing the risk of structural damage or failure. Use above this weight is not recommended and may reduce product safety and durability.
  • The saddle’s shape is engineered to maintain structural integrity when correctly clamped to a compatible seatpost. Do not bend, twist, or apply force to the saddle prior to installation.
  • The saddle features Grade 5 titanium rails (Ti-6Al-4V), which are structurally critical. Always install and tighten the rails according to the torque specifications provided by your seatpost or bicycle manufacturer.
  • Before each ride, inspect the saddle and mounting hardware for signs of wear, cracks, or looseness. Do not use the saddle if any damage is detected.
  • Exceeding the rider weight limit, incorrect installation, or continued use of a damaged saddle can lead to failure and may result in serious injury.

LIMITED WARRANTY

The 3D printed frame and titanium rails of the RAMUS saddle are covered by a limited one (1) year warranty. This warranty covers failures under normal triathlon cycling use, provided the saddle has been used according to this document and any accompanying guidance.

To file a warranty claim, you must provide a detailed description of the failure. Grindstone Hill Ltd. will evaluate whether the issue was caused by misuse or a design/material defect. If the issue is determined to be a design or manufacturing defect, a replacement saddle will be provided at no cost (excluding shipping).

Grindstone Hill Ltd. reserves the right to modify the design of the replacement saddle based on the findings of the original failure.

Any other accessories provided with the saddle, such as interchangeable seat paddings and hook-and-loop fasteners, are considered consumable items and are not covered by warranty.

SHIPPING & TAXES

EU orders

  • Prices at checkout include VAT according to the customer’s EU country.
  • No customs duties inside the EU single market.
  • You pay only the product + shipping shown at checkout.

Non-EU orders (e.g., USA, UK, Norway, Switzerland, etc.)

  • Prices are VAT-free at checkout.
  • Import duties, taxes and clearance/brokerage fees are charged by local customs/carrier on arrival and are paid by the recipient.
  • We declare the actual value and the correct HS code. We cannot mark as gift or under-declare.

RETURNS & REFUNDS

Please review the terms below. They explain in full how refunds, shipping charges, and return-condition requirements apply to your order. EU consumer purchases and non-EU orders follow different rules. Refund is issued after we receive the item or after you provide proof of posting, whichever happens first. Upon arrival we inspect the item. If there is any loss of value due to use beyond ordinary handling or insufficient packing, we may deduct a reasonable amount.

If anything is unclear, contact us via the form before sending a return so we can guide you to the correct process.

RETURN PROCEDURE (all customers)

  • Refunds are issued to the same payment method unless you agree otherwise and no extra fees apply.
  • Contact us via the contact form before returning.
  • Obtain return instructions, pack safely, include all accessories and packaging.
  • Return shipping is paid by the customer.

EU customers (consumer sales)

  • 14-day right of withdrawal.
  • Refund: product price plus the least expensive type of standard delivery we offer to your location.
  • Condition: return unused and in original condition. If handled beyond what is necessary to establish the product’s nature, characteristics and functioning, diminished value will be deducted; no refund if not resellable.

NON-EU (e.g., USA, UK, Norway, Switzerland)

  • 14-day return window for unused items.
  • Refund: product price.
  • Original shipping is non-refundable.
  • Condition: return unused and in original condition. If handled beyond what is necessary to establish the product’s nature, characteristics and functioning, diminished value will be deducted; no refund if not resellable.
  • Duties and taxes are not deducted from refunds unless we incur non-recoverable return charges (documented if applicable).

CUSTOMIZATION NOTICE

Please note: RAMUS saddles are assembled individually based on your chosen configuration (for example frame, padding, accessories). Since these components are selected from predefined options, the product is not considered custom-made under EU law and remains subject to the 14-day right of withdrawal.

Fully custom saddles (final sale)
Fully custom RAMUS saddles made to your specifications beyond the predefined options are not subject to the 14-day right of withdrawal and are non-returnable and non-exchangeable. All fully custom work is carried out under a separate design agreement and specification sheet that you must review and approve before production. By approving the specification you confirm that the order is final sale and non-returnable. This does not affect your statutory rights if the item is defective or not as described.

What “fully custom” means
“Fully custom” can mean, for example, custom frame geometry or dimensions, rail spacing or shape, bespoke 3D-printed padding thickness or geometry, surface materials or textures not listed online, accessory mounts or hardware placements outside standard positions, and one-off branding or markings. This list is not exhaustive.
